In addition to model and serial (sometimes called VIN) numbers, Honda also uses a "variation number" that is very important when ordering an engine or replacement parts. Variation numbers are normally alpha-numeric, containing 3-5 letters and digits. You may also find a GCxx-xxxxx number, which is the vin number. The VIN is of little or no help in identifying the exact engine you have for replacement purposes, but may be required when ordering parts. |
